Discover How To Make Your Cake Decorations Tasty And Beautiful!

From The Desk Of: Judith Dwyer

Fellow Baker

I set this website up because I absolutely love cake decorating - Everything from fun children’s designs to elegant wedding creations. However, until recently I couldn’t achieve the professional look I wanted. That’s why I want to share my cake decoration knowledge with as many people as possible.

Since you’ve found this website I’m assuming you love decorating cakes as much as I do. The truth is, I’m always on the internet looking for new recipes and design ideas. While doing some research, I stumbled upon a fantastic manuscript by McKinley and Norma Wilton.

They are two of the most well-known and admired cake decorators of recent history. I noticed that most of their work was available online with the exception of one of the most important pieces of work, Modern Cake Decorating.  Even though it was first published in 1958, this book has the best cake decorating information I have ever seen.

In the 15 chapters here’s just a snippet of what is covered:

  • What 'Frosting' does for the cake - It's not what you think.
  • How to make a stencil cake- learn all the tricks of the trade and ensure your cake looks like such a professional one.
  • How to make Royal Icing With Meringue powder. This is a special addition that only the 'pros' know about.
  • How to make 'French Butter Cream'. This will be an instant hit.
  • Secrets to using 'ornamental' tubes...and the best time to use them.
  • How to use color techniques that will really make your cake stand out.
  • Plus all the other techniques like... spatula, color icing, masking methods and lots more to help you make the most amazing cakes.

If this is the kind of information that you have been looking for, here’s the good news…

I have contacted the original copyright owners and gained permission to republish McKinley and Norma Wilton’s complete work on this website. Although I had to pay to have the manuscript reformatted and published online, cake decorating is my passion. Therefore, I want to share this book with as many people as possible for free.

The information is second to none and you’ll soon be making your very own edible works of art.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Cheers and Happy Icing

Judith Dwyer
